Tell me about Waterstone?
Waterstone is a private, boutique investment firm for individuals and couples who desire highly personalized management of their portfolios. Our team of professionals manages some $45 million in asset for clients, through our offices located in Owasso and Utica Square in Tulsa. Waterstone offers clients access to a complete range of financial solutions with a special emphasis in retirement planning. Because the investment consultants at Waterstone are independent, our team is free to offer those products our clients specifically need; we have no pressure or quotas to sell the proprietary financial products typically offered by the big name companies. As a result, you get completely unbiased advice.
How is Waterstone different than other investment services firms?
At Waterstone, I work hand-in-hand with our family of clients, in a highly personalized active management approach to help clients pursue their financial goals. Because Waterstone is a locally-owned, boutique investment firm, we are highly responsive and accountable to our clients. To honor our commitment to our current clients, Waterstone is purposefully scaled for measured growth, adding only a small number of new clients each year. We offer the complete range of professional services of the big name firms, but operate on a level where we connect personally with individuals and their financial goals. Waterstone’s Foundation Program expertly serves the smaller or beginning investor who has less than $100,000 to invest. Our Summit Program provides a full array of services for those who have multiple plans or need access to Advisory and Managed Money accounts. Consumers have a choice when deciding who can assist them in planning for their financial security. Our clients repeatedly say that they switched to Waterstone because of trust, results, personalized service, honest answers and a plan they know is in their personal best interest.
Tell me about your clients?
Waterstone serves a broad range of clients and most are like family now. Many are at, or near retirement, while some are on established paths through estate planning and trusts. Others are just starting to think about their senior years. I have some clients who drop vegetables by from their garden and others who stop by to show off their new Harley motorcycles. I enjoy hearing the travel stories and the interesting hobbies my clients are involved with.
Where did you grow up?
I was raised in the small bedroom community of Mesquite, Texas. As both a faith and family-oriented community, it reminds me a great deal of Owasso. From there, I attended Southern Methodist University on a football scholarship and also met Melanie, my wife. After SMU, I attended OSU, also on a football scholarship, and completed my Masters Degree. Now, I live in Owasso, where Melanie and I enjoy raising our two sons.
You believe strongly in community service, what areas are you personally involved in?
Working to build vibrant, sustainable communities is everyone’s responsibility. I’m involved with community service activities in areas that I can positively impact. For nearly 15 years, I have volunteered extensively for the Tulsa Area United Way, most recently serving on the Community Investments Board. I am a graduate of Leadership Tulsa, class 30, one of Oklahoma’s most respected volunteer organizations. Just last year, I was acknowledged as one of the esteemed Businessman of the Year by the Republican National Congress, and I’m an inductee in the Who’s Who of American Businessmen. Health and human services, personal wellness, and financial education are all areas I am passionate about advancing in the community.

Before my family and I moved to Owasso, Oklahoma, we lived in Tulsa. My husband and I have known each other for 25 years, and have been married for 13. We have two wonderful sons, ages eight and eleven. They are very involved in the Owasso community sports programs. We love spending family time together and attending their games.
After graduating from Oklahoma State University with a degree in education, I worked as a Health Educator for a local hospital and recreation facility. Currently, I am studying for the Series 7 exam, which I hope to pass within the next year so I can build my own client base to help support the Waterstone Team.
Waterstone Private Wealth Management is an asset to the Owasso community. The investment professionals here are truly dedicated to their clients and genuinely care about their financial future. I am proud to work for Waterstone and I look forward to the firm growing as it offers personalized services that no other financial firm does.
